from: Personal Dental Care:How To Achieve Dazzling Pearly Whites

Having dazzling pearly whites continues to rank among the wish lists of many. As the media have tremendous effect on how the society lives, like the fashion of the dresses, bags, and accessories, to whatever gender, many people are undeniably enticed by the perfect smiles of the celebrities.

But how do you achieve dazzling pearly whites? The world of marketing provides all including products that whitens the teeth. When you go to the nearest store, you will find a couple of personal dental care products that claim to offer the same effect. When you buy a whitening toothpaste, make sure that it has the right proportion of fluoride other than the whitening ingredients. This is very essential since it is the fluoride that effectively care for your teeth by fighting plaque and prevent tartar.

Some people claim that whitening products for the teeth are pure marketing hype and cannot really whiten the teeth. It should be noted that some people have really much-like yellowish color of the teeth while some might have lighter color. Also, as one ages, yellowing of the teeth is a natural occurrence.

Consulting an expert like your personal dentist can assist you on how to achieve those pearly whites. He can be a credible source to find the advise that you need, and may be able to suggest a product that can effectively answer your problem. You might as well avail of his services for your personal dental care.

One must be wary of whitening products for the teeth that can be purchased over-the-counter. These products may have bleaching ingredients that might be harmful to your mouth and teeth. Also, look and read instructions carefully so as to prevent any side effects of the product.
Popular stars like the celebrities are not born in the stars to have the perfect smile that everyone wants. These people go to professional teeth whitening treatments to have the oral care that they want whether for bracing or for teeth whitening.

The Teeth’s Nemesis

Taking too much sugar can be the sweetest evil that a person can do. Every person, once in his lifetime, have been indulged with the temptations and sins of eating too much sweets and even setting it beside the pillow at bedtime! The olds are not blabbering about their warnings of eating too much sugar. Eating too much sugar can damage the teeth and one of the major cause of its breakdown.

Contrary to the common knowledge that eating too much sugar is the cause of toothdecay, it is not the quantity that matters, maybe partly but it is the duration or the period of eating sweets. When you eat sweets and drink sodas the entire day, your teeth become overexposed to acids. This acid is the one that breaks the tooth. Some examples of products that causes acidic reactions are cough drops, hard candies and breath mints.

A three-hour break between taking foods and drinks that have sugars is advised by experts in personal dental care like the dentist. It is claimed by these professionals that starchy or sugary foods eaten with a full meal is less harmful to the teeth rather than being eaten alone because the increased production of saliva helps wash away the bacteria and sugar.

One of the most harmful things that a person can do to his teeth is eating sweet and sugary foods before sleeping. This is for the reason that the mouth does not produce a lot of saliva when he or she is asleep. Hence this concentrates the amount of sugar in the mouth.

If cutting off your intake of sugar can be a death sentence to you, suggested below are some tips that you can do to have the dazzling pearly whites.

• eat carbohydrates with a meal
• brush your teeth directly after eating
• rinse your mouth thoroughly with mouthwash or water
• chew sugarless gum
• don’t eat sugary foods and sweets between meals,
• eat non-sugary foods (cheese, popcorn, yogurt, raw veggies) as snacks.

Having dazzling pearly whites and healthy teeth may not come soon as you want. But investing in a lot of discipline and commitment to personal dental care may shorten the period you have to wait. You can still have the perfect smile though while on the process of getting your goal.
