from: Personal Dental Care: Yes, It’s More Than Just Brushing
Children have a good imagination as well as their parents. This is the reason why parents use the child’s imagination to discourage or encourage a child. In relevance, most parents have created their own versions of tooth-y stories to encourage their child to brush their teeth.
It is a good thing that a child is set to good personal dental care at an early age. This will make brushing part of his daily routine where some people may find hard to follow coupled with a lot of if’s and buts’. Yet if one only follows proper brushing of the teeth, nobody has to worry about personal dental care.
Many think that brushing the teeth is only as plain as putting it into your mouth, a little strokes and you’re done. Contrary to this, there is a proper brushing technique that one needs to follow. Brushing one’s teeth after every meal can be the basic personal dental care, yet it has to be done properly. If you are not familiar with this, a visit to the dentist can help you know the proper way and he might as well give a good demonstration.
Brush Your Teeth At Least Two Times A Day
People believe that it is often necessary to do brushing every after meal or more than twice a day. Nevertheless, some dentist would suggest that it is more preferable to only brush the teeth twice a day, in special to those who have sensitive teeth, and might feel discomfort in frequent brushing.
Don’t Be A Lazy Bum
With the hectic schedule that you have and a lot of deadlines to beat, you might find it hard to spend time to brush the teeth. This is a very big NO NO! In exceptions of emergencies, neglecting your personal dental care can be one of the biggest mistakes that you could do.
Though there are some people who might even withstand not to brush their teeth in a day, this unhygienic practice should be cut-off in as early as possible time. A new change to personal dental care should be taken.
Some people may find it an instant relief to eat candies, menthols in particular, to hide the odor of the food that had been eaten. This will not do well either. This can be a good excuse if one done once or twice but if it has been a regular habit and have been an alternative to brushing the teeth, this should be abandoned.
Finding candies and sweets to replace brushing can only cause more cavities to your teeth. One may not be able to recognize this in the early period and yet in the long run, you will have to suffer its effects and regret the bad habits you have in personal dental care.
Meanwhile, making mouthwash gargle as an alternative to brushing may give you the instant remedy that you need, However, this also piles in the threats that you are giving your teeth instead of ultimate care.
Mouthwashes serve to improve the cleanliness of your teeth, not to substitute tooth brushing. Simply gargling won’t be able to clean your mouth thoroughly. Though you may feel fresh and clean after doing so, when you think it the second instance, you may find it that food particles are still inside your mouth ready to damage your teeth.
For one to achieve a healthy personal dental care, one has to make sure that proper brushing and a regular trip to the dentist are done. This will enable you to break that smile and not simply for you to be granted a wish by the tooth fairy.
